Our Doctors
Dr. Carl E. Grimmett
Dr. Grimmett grew up in Trussville where he attended Hewitt-Trussville High School, graduating in 1974. His love and compassion for animals led him to Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine where he graduated in 1980. After graduation Dr. Grimmett practiced with another local veterinarian before opening Grayson Valley Pet Clinic in 1982.
Today, Dr. Grimmett lives in Trussville with his wife Becky and is an active member of the First Baptist Church, Trussville. He is also a proud Grandparent.
He specializes in small animal and exotic medicine, surgery, ultrasound and endoscopy. Once a year, Dr. Grimmett visits Kenya on a mission trip with his church to assist the people of Africa’s Goats, Cows, and Sheep.
Dr. Connie Kniola
Dr. Kniola has been at Grayson Valley Pet Clinic for over 3 years. She is married to David Kniola and has two children, two grandchildren, two great-grandchild, a 7 year old Chihuahua named Bugze and a 2 year old Chiweenie Rat Terrier mix named Bunny.
She graduated with an AAS in Nursing from Purdue University in 1991. She worked in the heart lung transplant ICU at UAB when it first opened. She realized her passion for animals and decided to attend Auburn University’s Veterinarian program where she graduated Cum Laude with a DVM in 1999. Her main interests include wellness, owner/client education, and dermatology. She also assists in our cat I-131 treatment.
She is also a Sunday school teacher and sings in the praise and worship band. Whenever she has a chance, she loves to swim.
Our Staff
Arlene Church is part of the original staff at Grayson Valley Pet Clinic. Through the years, she has had a variety of jobs and duties here. Presently, she is our bookkeeper and has other duties which include that of receptionist. She has 1 dog and 4 cats.
Hey there! My name is Isabella and I’ve been working here since July 2023. I have three adorable fur babies named Blue, Thumper and Puppy. I also have a small farm with chickens, ducks, donkeys, and goats. Working with animals has always been my passion, and I love being outside. Besides that, I love spending time with my loved ones, and I’m excited to meet you and your babies!
Hey, my name is Olivia! I have been working with Grayson Valley Pet Clinic for two years. Ever since I was younger, I have always had a passion for animals of all kinds. My husband and I live in Springville, and we have cats, bearded dragons, chickens and ducks. We enjoy visiting National Parks and being outdoors. I am so excited to get the opportunity to meet you and your pet!

Hey! My name is Jessica. I have worked at Grayson Valley Pet Clinic for 14 years. I love all animals and can’t imagine working anywhere else! We have our own dogs and cats, and we also rescue and foster animals in need. My husband and I grew up in the Pinson/Trussville area and we have two kids, Ariel and Axel. I look forward to meeting you and your pets!
Hi, my name is Pat and I have enjoyed working at Grayson Valley Pet clinic since 2006. I have 2 fur babies named Baby Girl, and Skeeter.
Hey, my name is Kristin! I have been with Grayson Valley Pet Clinic for about 4 years but have always been in the animal field. I have 2 beautiful little girls and 2 dogs at home! Animals have always been my passion and I can’t wait to meet you and your fur baby!
Randy has been a employee of our clinic since November of 1986. He is responsible for keeping our office looking, and smelling good. He is also the one who comes in twice on Sundays to walk, feed and clean up after our boarders. He is a member of First Baptist Church, Trussville. He lives in the area with his sister, Gail.
My name is Rebecca, I started working here at Grayson Valley Pet Clinic during the summer of 2023 and I couldn’t be happier being in this field of work. Outside of work I enjoy rock climbing. I have two fur babies, Lemon and Lolly. I love all animals, but have a passion for exotics, especially bunnies (obviously).
Hi, my name is Mikayla. I’ve had a passion for animals my whole life, so being a part of Grayson Valley Pet Clinic is a special opportunity for me. My fiance and I live in Pinson with our cat, Kali Linux and our dog Hercules. I’m happy to be here to help take care of your pets and ours.
My name is Shawn. I’m new to Grayson Valley Pet Clinic and me and my wife have been a client of Dr. Grimmett’s for over 26 years. My wife and I have 4 cats and 4 dogs. Grayson Valley Pet Clinic and the staff here have always had a special place in our hearts and I am so excited to be here to help care for your animals too!
My name is Cayden and I’ve worked at Grayson Valley Pet Clinic for over two and a half years. I have one cat who I love the most. I have a passion for helping animals and I enjoy what I do here at Grayson Valley Pet Clinic.
